Service learning is a promising pedagogical strategy for attracting students to special education professions. Evaluation results from students and service learning recipients of a course entitled “Autism in the Community” and strategies for applying the DEC Recommended Practices within an interdisciplinary, collaborative framework in professional preparation will be shared.
